Michael has been involved with the tournament since 2004 when he and Rob Gasser initiated the tournament web casting. He is currently Past President and Permanent Board Member of Texas Lions Camp for Handicapped and Diabetic Children. Michael founded Morgan Petroleum Testers in 1981. He has had the privilege of watching his two daughters play in the tournament. Michael joined the Lutheran Basketball Board of Directors in 2008.
Rod has been involved with the Tournament of Champions since the move of the Tournament to Valparaiso University in 1971 as the head of officials and trainers. He is currently the head trainer at Valparaiso University working and traveling with various sports teams. He is an active official in various sports. Rod joined the LBAA Board of Directors in 1997.
Carlene has been involved with Lutheran basketball her entire life. She was recently inducted into the Concordia University, Seward, Hall of Fame and played in the first Houston Women’s Basketball League. Carlene is the former Lady Lions basketball coach at Lutheran High North, Houston, Texas and is now enjoying taking some time off to spend time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren. She has had the privilege of watching her two daughters play in this tournament while she and her husband (Ted) have helped as volunteers. Carlene has been an LBAA director since 2000
Jason has been involved with the National Tournament since joining the South Shore CVA in 2005. Jason graduated with a BS in Sports Marketing and is currently the Director of Sports Development for South Shore, Indiana. Jason has worked with various teams and is currently a high school basketball official along with his other sports duties. Jason joined the Board of Directors in 2012.
Rob Gasser has been with the tournament since 2004 when he and Michael Morgan started the Live Webcast. He is currently a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for Rehmann Financial in Toledo, OH. Previous positions were Director of Technology for Trinity Lutheran in Toledo and Mountain View School District #244 in Grangeville, ID. Rob is married to Michelle and has two daughters, Heidi and Gretchen. Other than his passion for technology, he enjoys playing hockey (goalie) and spending time with his family. Rob joined the board in 2013.
Amanda Johnson has been on staff at Valparaiso University since 2010 and involved with the LBAA since 2011 when she became the Valparaiso University Liaison. She currently works in the Office of Undergraduate Admission as an Assistant Director and serves as the Athletic/Admission Liaison. As part of her role as the LBAA/University Liaison, she oversees campus preparation, manages tournament volunteers, and assists during day of events. Amanda joined the LBAA Board in 2014.
